A royal roll-out

The Duke and Duchess of Sus­sex added royal star power to the for­ma­tion of a net­work of uni­ver­si­ties in the Pa­cific and the Caribbean af­fected by cli­mate change and nat­u­ral dis­as­ters. The cou­ple vis­ited the Univer­sity of the South Pa­cific in Suva dur­ing their trip to Fiji, to hear about the cre­ation of the Com­mon­wealth Cli­mate Re­silience Net­work, de­vel­oped by the As­so­ci­a­tion of Com­mon­wealth Uni­ver­si­ties. The duke un­veiled four new Queen El­iz­a­beth Com­mon­wealth Schol­ar­ships for stu­dents of cli­mate re­silience: USP and Fiji Na­tional Univer­sity will each host a mas­ter’s stu­dent from the Caribbean, while the Univer­sity of the West Indies will wel­come two stu­dents from the Pa­cific.
