Gallery scoops top prize

-

An art gallery in Cornwall has been named the museum of the year for its new exhibition space carved from solid rock. Tate St Ives, which celebrates artists who lived and worked in Cornwall, underwent the extension that cost £20 million before scooping the top prize from Art Fund, a charity that supports British museums and art galleries. Judges praised the attraction for being “deeply intelligent and breathtakingly beautiful”.
