PLACE OF THE WEEK
Dinefwr Park and Castle, Carmarthenshire
Found just outside Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, Dinefwr is home to a national nature reserve, an ancient castle, a deer park and a historic house. Dinefwr Castle has stood on a hilltop above the Tywi Valley for hundreds of years. Dinefwr supports a huge range of species and habitats, from dense woodlands to wet meadows. Some of the country’s most secretive animals live there too, including otters, polecats, deer, badgers and eagles.
