How did the mountain chicken frog get its name?
Francesca Servini
ZSL London Zoo keeper
The mountain chicken frog was given its name by Caribbean islanders, who compared its taste to chicken. It’s one of the largest frogs in the world and has been brought to the brink of extinction because of hunting, along with habitat loss, the introduction of other predators to their island home, and a fungal disease that the ZSL team hopes to help beat.
