Deadly disease spreads
On 9 September, the World Health Organization (WHO) – the United Nations agency concerned with international public health – said that an outbreak of cholera has become a major problem within the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Cholera is an infection that you can catch from eating or drinking dirty food or water. The disease can kill people if they don’t get medical treatment in time. The WHO say that cholera has led to the deaths of 528 people in DRC.
