How do you pronounce it?
Frome (pronounced Froom) in Somerset is the most mispronounced place name in the UK, according to a list put together by a team of language specialists. The second hardest place name to say is Ballachulish (Ball-a-hoolish) in the Scottish Highlands. Ted Mentele, who helped compile the list, said many UK place names were hard to say because they contain silent letters, and some of the letters are pronounced differently in different parts of the country.
