Fortnite bots on the loose

-

One of the reasons that Fortnite is such a popular game is the way it lets players test their skills against other humans. Soon they’ll also be pitting their wits against bots, which are computercontrolled players. The bots will be introduced in the next (11th) season of Fortnite, which is expected to be available in October.

“In the next season, we are adding bots to Fortnite. They will behave similarly to normal players and will help provide a better path for players to grow in skill,” announced the game’s publisher Epic Games.

The bots are part of a new matchmaking feature that will mean Fortnite players are matched against people with a similar skill level. The bots will mainly play against newer players (n00bs in gaming-speak), and as people improve, they’ll be less likely to come up against the bots.

The news came shortly after another new Fortnite feature went live: Party Hub. It’s a way for people playing the game on mobile devices to see which friends are online, and voice-chat with them before starting to play.
