Congress is the part of the US government where elected politicians come together to make and vote on new laws.

The House of Representatives

The House of Representatives, also known as the House, is one part of Congress. The House can vote to impeach a president.

The Senate

The Senate is the other part of Congress. It has unique powers; nothing approved by the House can become law unless the Senate agrees.
