IT’S AN AMAZING WEEK FOR…
ATLANTIC GREY SEALS
More than 100 Atlantic grey seals are expected to be born off the Pembrokeshire coastline in Wales this autumn. The number of seal pups born in the area is increasing every year, and last year saw one of the highest-ever annual birth rates in west Wales. Tourists are expected to flock to the area to spot the pups.
AN INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY
The remains of a Roman fort have been found during the building of a new bus station in Exeter, Devon. Archaeologists (experts who study the past from things that people have left behind) say the discovery suggests that Exeter was much more important in Roman times than was previously thought.
A SPECIAL ROUNDABOUT
A roundabout in Truro, Cornwall, has been named the best in the UK. It features a family of giant wooden hedgehogs, and was praised by the Roundabout Appreciation Society (RAS) as quirky, imaginative and beautiful. The RAS aims to draw attention to magnificent roundabouts across the UK with its 2020 calendar.
