Park sentenced: South Korea’s former president Park Geun-hye (pictured) has been found guilty of charges including bribery, coercion and abuse of power, and sentenced to 24 years in prison. Park, 66, was removed from office in March 2017 and arrested three weeks later. She was found guilty last week of taking bribes and pressuring companies to give money to organisati­ons run by the family of her close friend, Choi Soon-sil. Choi was sentenced to 20 years in prison in February for her part in the scandal.
