Riesling Steinterrassen 2016
Riesling is an extraordinarily versatile grape, much maligned because it’s wrongly assumed to be inevitably sweet. This Austrian estate has been around for approximately 500 years and falls very much into the crisp and dry spectrum. It is actually owned by the municipality of Krems and its 35 hectares of vines fall within the city limits. There is a delightful lemon and grapefruit edge to it, which enhances its stony freshness on the palate. The perfect Riesling to convert any sceptics.
