The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ at the Ambassador­s Theatre, London WC2 (adrianmole­themusical.com). This adaption of Sue Townsend’s bestseller is “one of the most purely enjoyable funny British musicals I’ve seen” (Mail on Sunday). Ends 28 Sep.

The Worst Witch at the Vaudeville Theatre, London WC2 (worstwitch­live.com). The stage version of Jill Murphy’s tales of clumsy Mildred Hubble has flown into the capital. Full of “chills, thrills and humour” (Times). Ends 8 Sep.

Malory Towers at The Passenger Shed, Bristol (wisechildr­en.co.uk). Acclaimed theatre director Emma Rice has adapted Enid Blyton’s boarding school romps. Ends 18 Aug, then touring.

The Moon Exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London SE10 (rmg.co.uk). This celebratio­n of our celestial neighbour comprises more than 180 objects – including samples from the Apollo missions. Ends 5 Jan.

Last Supper in Pompeii at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (ashmolean.org), focuses on Pompeii’s foodie culture. The 300 exhibits on loan range from frescoes to food that was preserved in volcanic ash. Ends 12 Jan.

Roller Coast Festival at Dreamland, Margate (dreamland.co.uk). The amusement park offers entertainm­ent all summer. With a new theme each week, from carnivals to science, and everything from dance lessons to films. Ends 1 Sep.

The Fringe by the Sea festival is awash with interestin­g events – many for children – around North Berwick. Of note is Dr Ben Garrod’s dinosaur show. 2-11 Aug (fringebyth­esea.com).
