Artists showcase their work
ARTISTS from across Woodley and Earley proudly displayed their masterpieces at a community art show last month, writes Gemma Davidson.
Members of the Woodley and Earley Arts Group came together between October 27 and 29 to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a spectacular exhibition at the Oakwood Centre, in Headley Road.
Displays of beloved pets, favourite landmarks and stunning scenery were all on show, and a number of pieces were chosen to form the group’s 2018 calendar, which was available to buy.
The group’s treasurer, Pat Birt said: “Our 25th Anniversary Exhibition was a great success, more people through the doors over the three day event than ever before, maybe the beautiful weather we all enjoyed last weekend contributed to this.
“Sales of our paintings and crafts were excellent. This year we produced a 2018 calendar of our members paintings and that has also proved extremely popular.”
The group’s next meeting will take place at the Oakwood Centre on Thursday, November 30 featuring guest speaker Joel Wareing, with the subject pastels and figures. All are welcome to the evening, entry for guests is
£4. Doors open at 7pm, with the demonstration starting at 7.30pm.
