Diwali lessons at Twyford pre-school

-

CHILDREN at a pre-school in Twyford have spent a week celebrating and learning all about the religious festival of Diwali.

Children, staff and parents at Cedar Park Day Nursery, in Bridge Farm Road, spent a week making Rangoli patterns using coloured rice, and produced small diva lamps out of clay.

Diwali is one of the world’s largest religious celebrations which is marked in India and across the world. Also known as The Festival of Lights, the event symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Nursery Manager Emma Kemp said: “At

Cedar Park we mark a range of different cultural and religious events throughout the year.

“This helps to give children a broad understanding of the world around them and celebrates diversity.”
