Orchids to go on show

-

ORCHID lovers are in for a treat at Hare Hatch Sheeplands.

The Thames Valley Orchid Society is to stage a display of exotic orchids and members will be on hand to offer visitors free help and advice.

The society’s show secretary Ray Huggins said: “On Saturday, April 28, we will be displaying unusual orchids from across the globe.

“We have always enjoyed our visits to Sheeplands and we look forward to meeting up with people, listening to their questions on the care of the plants and providing answers.

“We will even re-pot their own orchids for them for the small charge of £1.”

Sheeplands is staging a children’s “colour an orchid” competition with separate prizes for those aged under three, aged four to six and over seven.

Andrea Burlingham from Sheeplands said: “By coincidence the society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and Sheeplands is celebrating its 25th so there are more reasons than usual to enjoy the occasion.”

The show runs from 11am to 4pm. Entry is free.
