Unicorns help keep Daisy’s Dream alive

-

LOCAL children’s bereavement charity Daisy’s Dream says it is delighted to receive a magical donation from its local Unicorns branch.

Thames Valley No.1 Unicorn Club chose to support Daisy’s Dream as its charity in 2017-18, and raised the funds through a series of events including its annual quiz night which it recently held in Charvil. It raised £1,250 over the year.

Club president, Wokingham’s John Waddelove, visited the charity to hand over the funds.

He said: “The Unicorns are pleased to be able to support this very worthwhile local charity, which makes such a difference to so many local families struggling with the death or serious illness of someone close to them.”

And Daisy’s Dream was pleased with its special visitor.

Fundraiser Claire Rhodes said: “As a small charity, with no Government funding, we’re so grateful for the Unicorn’s support. This super donation will help fund 20 one-to-one bereavement or serious illness support sessions to children in Berkshire by our team of professional family workers.”

Thames Valley No. 1 Unicorns Club is a men’s social club, which meets at Sonning Golf Club on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7.30pm.
