SUMAS slipped to a first home defeat since November with a high-scoring loss to Holyport.

Wokingham triumphed 4-3 themselves against Sandhurst last time out, but were on the wrong end on the seven-goal score-line this time around as they fell below Holyport in the table to sixth.

Dan Bateman made three changes from the team which won at Bottom Meadow with Sean Woodward, Nick Bateman and Sam Lawrence replacing Gary Collin, Ben Broadhurst and Will Day.

And Sumas took the lead when Jake White continued his fine goalscoring form to break the deadlock.

Woodward was the busier keeper to keep his side in front with two good saves before Holyport levelled courtesy of an own goal.

The in-form visitors then turned the tables to go 2-1 up before Wokingham were dealt another blow with White forced off through injury.

Holyport added a third goal soon after the restart before Charlie Dean added Sumas’ second.

But that two-goal cushion was restored after a good passing move and despite a late Lawrence penalty, Holyport held on to win 4-3.

Sumas face Chalfont Wasps at Lowther Road on Saturday (3pm) for their penultimate game of the season.
