Saeid helps Iran to friendly vic­tory

NEW SIGN­ING Saeid Eza­to­lahi pro­duced a man-of-the-match per­for­mance as Iran beat Uzbek­istan.

The mid­fielder signed for Read­ing on loan from Rus­sian out­fit FC Rostov just be­fore the trans­fer win­dow closed and he could make his de­but at Pre­ston North End on Satur­day (3pm).

The 21-year-old pro­vided the as­sist for the win­ning goal on his 28th ap­pear­ance for Iran.

Else­where, Jon Dadi Bod­vars­son started both of Ice­land’s UEFA Na­tions League games against Switzer­land and Bel­gium, but could not pre­vent

6-0 and 3-0 de­feats re­spec­tively.
