Woodley beaten again
ROSIE PAGE-SMITH scored her seventh goal of the season but could not prevent back-to-back defeats for Woodley United Ladies.
The first half at Oxford City was a cagey affair with the hosts edging in front just before the break in the Southern Women’s Premier Division clash.
Woodley began the second half well but had goalkeeper Nicole Haines to thank for remaining in the contest.
But she could not prevent Oxford moving 2-0 up and that became three just past the hour mark.
Page-Smith netted a consolation goal for United, but it came in vain as they lost out 3-1.
Down in the First Division, Caroline Paterson scored a hat-trick to help WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK LADIES to a 5-2 win over Alton at Lowther Road.
Caroline Shephard and Alice Lilley also scored for the Sumas as they moved onto six points, just one fewer than the entirety of last season.
In the same league, WARGRAVE’S game at Eastleigh was postponed.
Over in the Thames Valley Counties Division, EVERSLEY AND CALIFORNIA were knocked out of the League Cup, going down 1-0 at Abingdon Town Women and BINFIELD lost 4-0 at Holyport in Division Two East.
