Winnersh Triangle lights

The Wokingham Paper - - COUNCIL NEWS -

SWITCHING off the traffic lights at Winnersh Triangle during off-peak hours “is not possible”.

That’s the verdict of Cllr Anthony Pollock, the executive member for highways and transport.

He was responding to a question by Lib Dem member Rachelle Shepherd-DuBey who wanted to know if there was any progress on the proposal.

“The junctions are designed to operate as signal controlled and do not meet the specifications to operate without signals. To do this would be unsafe.”

He did, however, promise “a potential improvement to the light sequencing”, with a test run planned before Christmas.
