Rockets lose ground
READING ROCKETS lost ground on the leading pack in NBL
Division One and suffered a cup exit with two away defeats at the weekend.
Saturday saw Alan Keane’s men head to unbeaten leaders Team Solent Kestrels and the league game was tied at 38-38 at half-time.
But the Kestrels broke away in the third period to lead 62-52 before closing out an 86-75 victory.
Sunday saw Reading head to previously winless Essex Leopards in the National Trophy, but that proved to another difficult away day.
A slow start by the Rockets saw them fall 20-8 behind by the end of the first quarter and they never recovered.
The gap was trimmed to 36-29 by half-time but Essex improved after the restart to cruise to an 85-69 win.
Rockets (4-3) host Barking Abbey Crusaders (3-5) on Sunday (5pm).
