Berkshire Demcare support clients with dementia by providing therapeutic activities.
They are looking for volunteers to help with activities at their Crowthorne centre where they meet and when they go out on trips.
Volunteers must be approachable, friendly and reliable. Help is needed on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 10am-3pm.
Volunteer can help for a couple of hours or longer if they wish.
Expenses are covered and if they help over lunchtime, a hot meal is provided.
Remap makes bespoke aids and adaptations for the disabled that are not commercially available to help them in their personal care, hobbies, mobility, sport etc.
Remap has been operating nationally since 1965 and consists of about 80 Panels (branches) and 4000 volunteers.
The Berkshire Panel covers Berkshire. When assigned a job, the volunteer will visit the client (with medical professional if appropriate) to agree what is required, design and make it, and then hand it over to the client.
Depending on complexity, several visits may be required.
Jobs are assigned as they are received from clients to which ever volunteer is available, has the right skills and lives in the neighbourhood (to minimise travel).
Hours are determined by the volunteer around their own and the client’s availability, and so can be arranged around a full-time job.
Walk the Walk is the UK’s largest grant-making breast cancer charity that is dedicated to not only raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes, but to also encourage women and men to become more aware of their own potential for fitness and wellbeing.
We organise the famous MoonWalk overnight power walking challenges and are immensely proud to have raised over £126m, which has been granted to research into breast cancer and to improve the lives of people living with cancer now.
We recruit thousands of volunteers to make The MoonWalk a safe and enjoyable event; looking after our walkers at busy crossings, keeping them hydrated and above all giving the encouragement they need to complete their epic challenge.
