Walk round bor­ough’s threat­ened coun­try­side

AN OP­POR­TU­NITY to walk through some of the bor­ough’s threat­ened coun­try­side is be­ing or­gan­ised this week­end and next.

Routes are five miles and will take in land that is threat­ened with ad­di­tional hous­ing. The event has been or­gan­ised by SOS: Save Our Vil­lages.

This Satur­day and Sun­day, walk­ers will meet at Graze­ley Vil­lage Hall, walk­ing into Hop­kiln Farm, Kybes Lane, Pound Green, Foundry Bridge, Reids Bridge, Bas­ingstoke rail­way line, Shep­par­ton Lane be­fore end­ing up back at the vil­lage hall again.

And on Satur­day, Jan­uary 12 and Sun­day, Jan­uary 13, the walk­ers will meet at Spencers Wood Recre­ation Ground in Clares Green Road. The route in­cludes Ryeish Sports Pav­il­ion, Three Mile Cross, Graze­ley Road, Wood­cock Lane, White House Farm, Lod­don Court, Sheep­bridge Farm, Sus­sex Lane, Croft Road, and back to the Recre­ation Ground.

Both walks start at 10am and walk­ers should come dressed for both the weather and muddy fields.

The routes will be led by An­drew Grimes and James Reid.
