Langley receives England call-up

DAVID LANGLEY is among a six-man team who will represent England at the 2019 Costa Ballena match in Spain.

Club is part of the side along with Jake Bolton (Wiltshire), Sam Done (Lincolnshire), Harry Goddard (Hertfordshire), Ben Hutchinson (Yorkshire) and Joe Long (Gloucestershire).

The octagonal match will be played January 22-25 against teams from Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.

The match was extended from four countries to eight for the first time in 2018, when England won the bronze medal with Spain emerging as champions.

Langley, 24, qualified by finishing as runner-up at the Tillman Trophy and the Hampshire Salver as well as winning the qualifying for the South African amateur and finishing in the top 10 of the Berkshire Trophy.

He also went on to help England win the men’s Home Internationals and will be hoping to repeat the success later this month against representatives from across the world.
