She says: “I have some complex medical ailments that were exacerbated by my weight, and although I still have these conditions, they are now manageable. When I first walked through the doors at Slimming World, I was lacking in confidence, and needed to use a walking stick. I really didn’t think that my weight loss dreams could come true. When Linda asked me what I’d really love to lose and what I wanted to achieve, I never imagined it would be possible.

“Since losing weight I not only have no need for the walking stick but I have less pain and lots more energy meaning I’m so much more active too.

“If anyone is thinking of joining Slimming World this January I’d just say ‘go for it’. Whatever you dream to lose, with Slimming World you can absolutely do it. I was nervous walking through those doors, however the warm welcome I received and the belief they showed in me was amazing.

“I instantly knew there was no need to be scared and that the people in the group really understood and cared. I’m now ready to face 2019 fitter, and more active than I have been for many years.

“Now I’m a target member, I will attend group each week for free. I love to go along to get top tips, motivation and support.”
