Wokingham Today

See it? Report it – then we’ll tackle it

-

ANOTHER week and more reports of mindless vandalism and anti-social behaviour pepper our pages.

Although an age-old problem many residents are saying that this behaviour seems to be getting worse of late.

There are many instances cited across social media of these petty crimes – everything from throwing litter at people to turning up on doorsteps and harassing their victim.

Many of these incidents are shrugged off – people can’t see the point in calling the police, reporting the crime and trying to nip the issue in the bud.

But this week alone The Wokingham Paper is reporting damage to Wokingham town’s Christmas tree, car windscreens being deliberately broken and an innocent shopper being squirted with cream while browsing the shelves of a town centre shop.

Clearly something needs to be done. And it starts with us.

If you see it, report it to the police.

The more reports they receive the easier it will be to act and bring this wave of petty crime to an end.
