Chantelle’s stunner sees Eversley past Headington

-

CHANTELLE LAWRENCE scored a second-half stunner as Eversley and California Ladies saw off struggling Headington at Fox Lane.

An own goal gave the Boars a half-time lead before Lawrence fired in to earn a 2-0 win for her side in Thames Valley Counties Division One.

Down in Two East, BINFIELD LADIES clinched their second league victory of the campaign, thumping Harefield 7-1.

Over in the Southern Women’s league, WOODLEY UNITED LADIES kicked off the year with a 3-2 win over New Milton Town in the Premier Division.

Town took the lead through Tiffany Skinner’s strike and after missed chances from both sides, May Hamblin equalised.

Rosie Page-Smith then completed the turnaround, only for New Milton to send the game in at the break all level as Holly Wilkins turned into her own net.

However, Woodley netted the only goal in the second half with Mollie Lambourne firing in to clinch victory.

In the First Division, WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK were thrashed 9-0 at Wycombe Wanderers while goals from Sian Blissett and Millie Bilcliff could not prevent a 4-2 defeat for WARGRAVE LADIES at Basingstoke.
