Toffees comeback sinks Women

Everton Women 3 Reading Women2

SECOND from bottom Everton earned three points thanks to second half goals from Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Simone Magill after Remi Allen had given Reading an early first half lead.

The Royals took an early lead after some good work on the wing from Natasha Harding allowed her to roam into the box and squared the ball for Allen who converted from close range.

Everton piled the pressure on Reading having fallen behind and they found an equaliser just five minutes before the break.

A misplaced pass from Reading goalkeeper Grace Moloney fell to the feet of Inessa Kaagman who chipped the stranded keeper with precision to find the back of the net.

The hosts took the lead shortly after the break as BoyeHlorkah burst from midfield and beat Moloney with an effort from 25 yards.

The Toffees then extended their advantage as Magill raced on to a Boye-Hlorkah through ball and stayed alert to finish from a second attempt after Moloney did well to keep out her first effort.

Fara Williams tried to ignite a Royals fightback as she stayed composed to dink the ball over the keeper to put Reading within a goal of the hosts.

But Everton held on to secure just their third win of the season which sees the Royals remain in fifth place with one league game remaining.
