My Country

This England - - Post Box - MADELEINE MILLS

My heart demands a homage To one land that is home, My spirit is unstinting In loving it alone.

My loyalty is single, My soul knows what is due, Though I may be far away, My heart is always true.

I am a native child of A land I touched but once, And in my soul a fire burns, An altar to my love.

This land is mine, and I bend My spirit to its soul; This land is Freedom, Justice, And Courage to the full.

This is my Jerusalem, The country of my heart, And at its shrine I worship, And yearn to do my part.

No life is worth the living Without this candle flame: My country is one God loves, And glorifies His name.
