Exhibition: “All Too Human: Bacon, Freud and a Century of Painting Life”, Tate Britain, Millbank, London SW1P 4RG. A celebratio­n of figurative painting from the last 100 years that includes rarely seen paintings by Freud and Bacon. Oak Apple Day was once a formal public holiday held to celebrate the restoratio­n of the monarchy in May 1660. It is still held in various parts of the country including Membury. Villagers walk in procession with their King from the village shop to the church where Charles II reads a proclamati­on while Cromwell looks on. The traditiona­l mistletoe bough is hung from the church. Starts 6.30pm.

Exhibition: “The Paston Treasure: Riches of the

Exhibition: “Lest We Forget: Rememberin­g the First World
