Branch Lines of Cornwall DVD

-

This superb tribute to Bristol’s railway heritage – which includes visits to over 40 stations and halts in and around the city, both past and present – begins at Brunel’s historic Temple Meads Station, which has been a vital transport hub since the early 1840s. The history of each station and halt is fully explained - some have sadly closed however many still operate today. The film also gives a full update on the Filton Bank four-tracking project, one of the biggest developments on the Bristol railway system for many years. Other highlights include a visit to the delightful heritage line, Avon Valley Railway, at its Bitton headquarters. The DVD ends triumphantly with the brand new electrification of the line between Bristol Parkway and London, which will help to deliver the full benefits of the new, high-speed, ultramodern Intercity Express trains.
