MONEY NO OBJECT
This bronze of racehorse Lord Gyllene was sold by Dreweatts auctioneers for £100,000, tripling its pre-sale estimate. Lord Gyllene won the Grand National in 1997, and his owner, Sir Stanley W. Clarke CBE, commissioned the piece from equine artist to the Royals, Caroline Wallace. In 1999,
Clarke presented it to the Animal Health Trust. Unfortunately the charity was unable to ride out 2020 and, after more than 75 years of veterinary research, is now closed. We wish all the staff and volunteers the very best for the future.
