The Keats-Shelley Memorial Association
Founded in 1903, The KeatsShelley Memorial Association owns the Keats-Shelley House in Rome, which attracts over 25,000 visitors each year. The house was purchased by the charity in 1906 and its first-floor apartment, where Keats died in 1821, has been transformed into a museum and library of the works of the two poets, alongside those of Lord Byron and Mary Shelley.
The charity also maintains the graves of Keats, Shelley, Joseph Severn and Edward Trelawny in the cemetery at Testaccio, and runs an annual competition to inspire today’s poets and essayists, the Keats-Shelley and Young Romantics Writing Prizes. keats-shelley.org
