EXPLORE ENGLAND 2021
If you like exploring England of course is the most wondrous place to do it. With its grand architecture, creatively curated museums, country estates and stunning natural landscape, it’s overwhelmingly rich in things to see and do… which is perhaps why our 2021 edition of Explore England is such a veritable cornucopia!
Our annual travel special features our countrywide guides to great places to visit and, this year we’ve also included great places to stay.
Highlights include:
• Discover Cornwall’s hidden coves and beaches on the country’s most scenic bus route. Our writer John Husband goes along for the ride.
• Susie Kearley goes underground to unearth the chilling story of the nuclear bunker that was built in Essex at the height of the Cold War.
• Chris Franks pays a visit to the atmospheric Helmsley Castle in Yorkshire where there are tales of ghostly goings on.
• Elgar was born and brought up in Worcestershire. John Greeves follows in his footsteps and visits the places that inspired his music.
• Plus: there’s plenty more besides, including the Forest of Bowland, the inside story of the Bodleian Library in Oxford, the fantastic churches of London, a weekend in Windsor.
