Welcome to the first edition of Timeless Travels magazine!
Initiated by a love of travel, archaeology and art, this first issue is packed with lots to read and gorgeous photographs. In this issue I hope to inspire you to travel to Mexico, Uzbekistan, Florence, Croatia, Syria, Jordan, England, Marrakech and Myanmar (Burma). There is a insightful interview with William Dalrymple, an inveterate traveller, and a focus on two extraordinary women; Gertrude Bell, who was a twentieth century adventurer, spy and diplomat and Artemisia Gentileschi, a seventeenth century painter who was the first female to be admitted to the Accademia di Arte del Disegno in Florence and is thought to be one of the most progressive and expressionist painters of her generation.
The roundup of archaeological news and also of the latest art and archaeological exhibitions may encourage you to visit them or for the more adventurous, there is the dig diary if you wish to volunteer for what could be one of the best experiences in your life.
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped me make my dream a reality – you have been amazing and your support and encouragement second to none. Happy reading!
