Travel to Pella

Timeless Travels Magazine - - JORDAN -

Pella, known locally as Tabaqat Fahl, is located in the north Jordan Valley approximately 85 km from Amman and is not serviced by direct public transport links. Local buses can be caught to Deir ‘Alla and then to Masharia but the final 2 km from the Jordan Valley Highway to the site would need to be walked (unless a kind local offers you a lift). Alternatively, a visit to Pella can be done as a day trip from Amman, Jerash or the Dead Sea resorts if a taxi or similar is hired. If coming from Jerash, the day trip could include a visit to the Crusader Period castle at Ajloun. There is rudimentary accommodation available at Pella, the only accommodation for travellers in the north Jordan Valley.
