Currency: The Swiss Franc is the currency of Switzerland. Banknotes are issued in 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 1000 Francs and coins come in 1, 2 and 5 francs. One hundredth of a Swiss franc is called a rappen (German), centime (French) or centesimo (Italian). 0.05 francs is 5 rappen, 0.10 francs, 10 rappen, 0.20 francs, 20 rappen, and 0.50 francs, 50 rappen. Credit Cards are widely accepted throughout the city and ATMs are also widely available. The euro is accepted in larger shops and hotels, although change will be given in Swiss Francs.
