The grand meeting of Troy
One of the highlights of the 2018 Year of Troy is the international Grand Meeting of Troy. The central concept of this meeting is to bring together the people of all the cities and locations that are historically and culturally linked to Troy, the Homeric Legends, and all the other references that surround them, at the site of ancient Troy.
There will be an open call for civil society representatives, official bodies, public and private institutions, and, most importantly, for the international public to join in this memorable event. In this, its first year, the Grand Meeting will last four days and will coincide with the inauguration of the Troy Museum which will present a rich international programme including cultural events, concerts, live shows, and sporting events to encourage a closer bond among cultures that are inspired by Troy.
With an award-winning design, Troy Museum opens in 2018
Another great highlight of 2018 is the opening of the Troy Museum, an internationally awardwinning project considered to be one of the best examples of contemporary architecture for archaeological museums in the 21st century.
International events in several disciplines such as the arts, culture, sports, sciences and education will coincide with its inauguration in Canakkale in the summer of 2018. These events are geared toward visitors of all ages and interests to guarantee an enjoyable and memorable experience.
