Rodin and Hockney visit Holburne Museum, Bath
The Holburne Museum in Bath is delighted to receive two special visitors to the museum. The first, Rodin’s The Thinker (1880-1), is on loan from the Burrell Collection, Glasgow and the second is one of the nation’s best-loved paintings, Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy (1970-1) by David Hockney (b.1937, above), which is also one of the greatest portraits of British art. On loan to Bath from the Tate, it ties in nicely with the portraits of singers, dancers and actors in Gainsborough & the Theatre (which finishes 20 January 2019). The Hockney and Rodin can be seen until 27 January.
