Notes Yardage is based on 42in wide fabric. All measurements include ¼in seam allowances. Trace patterns A and B (see Templates section) onto template plastic and cut out the shapes on the drawn lines. Trace the templates onto the wrong side of the fabrics specified below and cut out. Be sure to transfer the centre marks and corner matching points to the templates and then to the fabric pieces. These are used when joining the pieces. Q Q Q border strips and two (2) 74½in long outer border strips. 9 Sew the shorter inner border strips to the sides of the quilt top; then add the longer strips to the top and bottom edges. Hand or machine quilt as desired; the quilt shown is machine quilted with an allover spiral and feather design in the quilt centre and diagonal parallel lines in the borders. Make 9 blocks, 21½in square Fig 4 Assembling the quilt top 8 Join the green 3½in x 42in strips end to end and press the seam allowances open. Trim the pieced length into two (2) 80½in long outer 13 Referring to the quilt assembly diagram ( lay out the blocks in three (3) rows of three (3) blocks each. Sew together the blocks in each row.
