WHO’S JOINED WHICH BRAND FOR 2017

-

The brand’s biggest new recruit in 2017 hasn’t actually signed a deal, but Rory Mcilroy will use Callaway clubs (see above). But Callaway has been busy putting pen to paper, bagging the likes of Michelle Wie, Daniel Berger (2016 Rookie of the Year on the PGA Tour) and Patrick Rogers.

They’re not making clubs any more, but that doesn’t mean the swoosh will disappear from golf. World No.1 Jason Day has joined the likes of Woods and Mcilroy in wearing Nike gear, along with Alex Noren and Thomas Pieters.

Pulled off arguably the biggest switch when it revealed Tiger Woods will use its woods, irons and wedges this year (see above). It also signed six players to fairway wood deals, including Paul Casey, Smylie Kaufman, Seung-yul Noh, Nick Watney, Kyle Stanley and Jon Curran.

Women’s world No.1 Lydia Ko dropped Callaway (and its long-time brand ambassador David Leadbetter) to join PXG. She is one of a raft of women joining the brand, including reigning US Women’s Open champion Brittany Lang and three-time LPGA winner Christina Kim.

In the US, Harris English went back, while in Europe Tyrrell Hatton joined them on an 11-club deal. He’d already been using a G driver, i irons and Vault putter, but made it official in a deal that will also see him in a Ping bag and cap.

This ball brand made headlines when it lured double Masters champ Bubba Watson away from Titleist’s Pro V1. “I took five balls out and hit all kinds of shots,” Watson said. “We couldn’t come up with anything wrong with them.” He’s already played a pink ball.
