MORE MIXED EVENTS, PLEASE
With golf needing to address inclusiveness and dwindling playing numbers, it seems a shame that the opportunity to support the struggling LET by jointly running a ladies’ tour event at the same time and at the same venue was not taken. Take the event held at Woburn for example; a perfect venue with three top-class courses that could have comfortably run two events together and mixed the men and ladies in the Wednesday pro-am to create a unique and sponsor-friendly event. Given the low numbers who generally spectate at ladies’ events, it would be good for golf’s reputation while simultaneously giving the ladies’ tour a much-needed boost.
