Why it’s special: This is one historic links – golf has been played here since 1777, making Fraserburg­h the seventh-oldest club in the world. You’ll love the variety of holes amid the dunes as they go out and back down the coast from the famous North Sea fishing port.

DUNBAR

Why it’s special: A star of the East Lothian trail and a true test of links golf. It’s long and slender and squeezed between the sea and a seven-foot wall that runs the entire length of the course.
