POINT AT POLZEATH, CORNWALL

-

Architect: Re-designed by Tim Lobb in 2014. Yardage: 5,945-6,274 (par 72).

Green fees: Oct 1-28 - £35.

In a nutshell… Both on and off the much-improved parkland course, this superb venue has been revived by owners Jeremy and Eva Davies in recent times, so much so that last year it proudly deservedly received the Club of the Year award.

To play well you need to... The course has benefited from a thorough upgrade carried out by leading architect Tim Lobb, so these days it shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is a good all-round challenge, with some tricky par 3s and the worthy SI1 par-4 14th, which can wreak havoc on your card.

You’ll love… The peace, quiet and tranquillity within easy walking distance of Polzeath beach. With a range of on-site accommodation available, including seven magnificent luxury apartments, it really is a great base for a south-west weekend. Also, the top links of St Enodoc and Trevose are close by.
