Members of the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society have voted 83.7% in favour of admitting female members, and not before time. The Edinburgh club was founded in 1761 and is the third Scottish club to break tradition this year. Glasgow Golf Club is expected do likewise, which will leave Royal Burgess, the oldest golf society in the world, as one of the last remaining male bastions. To be fair, they did hold a referendum in 2014, but only a third of its members voted in favour of letting women join.
