This is an­other easy drill which will add some ex­tra speed to your swing and help you gain a few ex­tra yards. You may have seen videos of Padraig Har­ring­ton try­ing some­thing sim­i­lar on the range; I liken it to Happy Gil­more be­cause you’re ba­si­cally step­ping into the shot. Again, you start with your feet close to­gether, but this time take a step for­ward as the arms take the club back. Do­ing so cre­ates some sep­a­ra­tion be­tween your back­swing and down­swing, and makes it eas­ier to feel how the weight shifts dur­ing the swing. That sen­sa­tion is key to get­ting the whole body swing­ing the club, not just the arms.
