Win a new Evnroll Midlock putter.

-

Over-length armlock-style putters might have caught on with Bryson Dechambeau and Matt Kuchar on tour, but until now their appeal has passed us by at To us, they’ve always felt unwieldy, cumbersome and difficult to learn how to use without spending hours on the putting green.

But Evnroll insisted on sending us a new Midlock putter recently and it’s fair to say we were shocked at how the brand’s new concept has made Armlock putters instantly accessible. The longer shaft length and a specially developed sideways arching grip felt completely natural and comfortable from the off, so much so that going back to using a traditional length putter felt a bit odd.

The Midlock concept was so good it even made its way into the elite group of our favourite 10 putters of the year. Now Evnroll want to give two lucky

readers an opportunity to bag a Midlock putter (worth £399 each) to see for themselves. Evnroll have developed four different Midlock heads (below), so our two winners will get a choice between the ER2 blade, the ER8 or ER5 mallets and the MOI monster that is the ER11.

What makes the model so easy to warm to is how Evnroll founder Guerin Rife has worked out Midlock putters should be 6” longer than a golfer’s standard putter. That makes it really easy to get the right length and not only feel instantly comfortable, but also more locked-in and stable than with a traditional putter. Rife has also worked up a new, long pistol-shaped grip; initially it looks like the grip has been put on sideways, but it’s the grip’s shaping that rests beautifully against the forearm to encourage a really solid and smooth, one-piece takeaway.

We were bowled over by the simplicity of the Midlock concept and if your putting has been in the doldrums, we reckon a beautiful CNC milled Evnroll might just hold the key to greater success.
