OFF THE COURSE IN Crans Montana...

-

Golf is the main reason you will organise a trip to Crans Montana – but it is far from the only reason to start looking at flights to Geneva. Here are a few of the non-golf attractions of one of the most beautiful spots in Europe.

Wine tourism

With its 5,000 hectares of vineyards, the Valais is the largest vineyard in Switzerland. More than 50 varieties of grapes grow here, of which about 10 are native to the region and not to be found elsewhere in the world.

The producers open their cellars for discovery tastings, often accompanied by a Valais aperitif.

The wines on offer will enchant even the most discerning taster. From La Petite Arvine with its hint of wisteria and the sweetness of l’amigne, to the characterful reds of Humagne, Diolinoir and the pride of our region, the colourful and beautifully fruity Cornalin.

Hiking

The Bisse du Ro and its spectacular suspension bridge offer an epic route for walkers. The “bisses” are man-made watercourses built on the mountainside to bring water for crops and which today offer enchanting routes for hikers in love with nature and extraordinary panoramas.

The Bisse du Ro, takes you from Lake Tseuzier along towering rock faces, crossing a spectacular 120m-long hanging bridge. It offers a remarkable aerial perspective and amazing view halfway between the Rawyl Dam and the centre of Crans-montana.

The walkway of the Bisse du Ro allows walkers to discover this mythical hike in complete safety – it previously required intrepid explorers to walk along the wall!

Beach Club

The Beach Club, which is located right next to the golf course, will allow you a moment of relaxation by the lake Etang Long.

Deckchairs, swimming, food, and bars on the sand will delight visitors searching for some rest, while the more active can challenge themselves with beach volleyball or cable wakeboarding.
