Officially opened in September 2018 by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, Michlifen Golf & Country Club is located in the unique mountain town of Ifrane, a 45-minute drive from the historic city of Fez. Ifrane is often referred to as ‘Little Switzerland’ due to its Alpine architecture – you will find lush forests, dramatic rocky outcrops, beautiful vistas and very agreeable temperatures for golf for most of the year.

Set at an altitude of 1,650 metres, the 18hole championship golf course is the first Jack Nicklaus signature in North Africa and is set on a stunning natural site in the ecologically recognised Ifrane National Park, overlooking the Atlas Mountains and expansive forests of cedar and oak trees. The views are spectacular and the variety of holes make for an incredible golf experience.

“The golf course at Michlifen plays at a high elevation – over 5,400 feet or almost 1,650 meters – so it will be comfortably cool during the peak summer months, when much of the golf will be played,” said Jack Nicklaus. “I just think once you take this very special mountain setting at Ifrane, and combine it with what we believe we have accomplished at Michlifen from a design perspective, it makes for a very unique, exciting and fun golf course to play.”

Guests are also able to enjoy a stunning clubhouse, offering panoramic views across the golf course and Atlas Mountains. The Michlifen Golf Academy features three world-class IMG performance studios with the latest in custom fitting and teaching technology.

The Nicklaus Signature golf course forms part of the iconic Michlifen Resort & Golf, already recognised as one of the finest and most exclusive Spa and Alpine retreats in North Africa. The 71-room, five-star hotel features a luxury 3,500m2 spa, and with the addition of the golf course, is set to offer the ultimate golf and leisure getaway in one of Morocco’s most historic and upscale regions.
