TOP 10 ELECTRIC TROLLEYS

-

Powakaddy FX3 |

£649

TG VERDICT Powakaddy’s entry-level option is the company’s biggest-selling model – and it’s been golf’s biggest-selling electric trolley for the last two years. It’s an ideal blend of size, price and features, designed with a chassis that is 20% smaller than the previous model. There are many features to choose from, but we particularly like the downhill brake model, for extra peace of mind.

Motocaddy S1 |

£649.99

TG VERDICT Motocaddy’s entry-level S1 has been completely redesigned from the ground up for 2022. There’s a brand new chassis, a handy USB charging slot and adjustable distance controls. The model is really easy to set up and use, it just doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles you’ll find on the more costly alternatives.

Motocaddy M5 GPS |

£929

TG VERDICT The world’s first touchscreen electric trolley is compact, as it’s built on Motocaddy’s M series chassis. Its 3.5-inch colour screen gives yardages and hole maps on the handle, and the device can shot track for you (with an additional subscription). Electric trolleys have risen significantly in price recently, but if you want a GPS model, this is about as good as they get.

Powakaddy CT8 GPS |

£949

TG VERDICT The tiny CT8 is 35% smaller than its closest competitor, so if transportation or storage space are an issue, this is the model for you. A 3.5-inch touchscreen gives brilliant hole and green graphics, while also offering GPS yardages to the front, centre and back of each green. It’s also available as a downhill brake model.

Powakaddy FX7 GPS |

£949

TG VERDICT The same spec as Powakaddy’s FX7, with the addition of a brand-new 3.5-inch touchscreen with GPS yardages to the front, middle and back of the green, plus hazards (the GPS chip is inside the handle, not your phone). It comes preloaded with more than 40,000 courses worldwide, with no annual fee or subscriptions needed to access them. Powakaddy’s top-spec model is money well spent.

MGI Zip X1 |

£549.99

TG VERDICT Now isn’t really the time to be looking for a new electric trolley as prices have sky-rocketed and some models are harder to get hold of than hens’ teeth. American Golf are the exclusive retailer for MGI, though, and somehow they’ve kept the price of this entry-level compact at sensible levels.

We like that any purchase comes with the peace of mind of buying from the UK’S biggest golf retailer.

Gokart |

£399

TG VERDICT Gokart have always looked a bit different, and now they’ve given their trolley a complete overhaul. Choose between standard or automatic speed control, which matches its pace to how fast you walk. The impressive folding frame is retained, but it now features a handy auto lock. It’s designed and made in the UK and comes with a choice between a lead/acid or lithium battery.

Golfstream Vision |

£499

TG VERDICT A patented one-touch folding mechanism means the Vision is the world’s simplest trolley to set up, according to Golfstream. A new Caddy White screen (a feature on ereaders) makes it easier to see the details in even the brightest conditions. It’s stylish, packed full of features and all yours for a very reasonable RRP.

Motocaddy M-tech |

£1,399

TG VERDICT Motocaddy’s most expensive trolley is designed with high-spec luxury finishes such as hand-stitched leather handle grips, polished chrome detailing and stealthy black and carbon fibre styling. A downhill brake keeps your investment safe on slopes, high power electronics put less stress on components, and it comes with a 36-hole lithium battery as standard.

Stewart Golf Q Follow |

£1,599

TG VERDICT The suitably-named Q Follow features built-in Bluetooth that means you are able to walk the fairway while the trolley follows behind, entirely hands-free. And when you reach the green, the Bluetooth handset turns into a remote control to direct the trolley towards the next tee. It’s a super hi-tech model that remains impressively compact.
